Yacob Livne - We killed a Pole, so you are anti-Semitic.
An Israeli attack on a registered and marked humanitarian convoy, which was travelling along a route approved by the Israel Defence Forces, killed seven World Central Kitchen employees, including a Pole. According to ‘Haaretz’ reports, an IDF drone bombed the World Central Kitchen organisation's convoy three times. The explanation given was that the target was supposed to be an armed Hamas member, who of course was not in the convoy.
The events were commented on X by the Israeli ambassador to Poland:
The far right and left in Poland are today attacking Israel over the tragic deaths in Gaza of members of an aid organisation, including a Polish citizen. Krzysztof Bosak, deputy speaker of the Polish parliament, who claimed that Israel is committing ‘war crimes’ and harming aid organisations to starve the innocent. Let me remind you that this is the same Bosak who to this day has refused to condemn the 7 October massacre and that a member of his far-right party extinguished the Hanukkah fire extinguisher we lit in parliament in Warsaw. Conclusion: anti-Semites will always remain anti-Semites. And Israel will remain a Jewish and democratic state that fights for its existence, also for the benefit of the entire Western world.
Context: Polish politician Grzegorz Brown extinguished Hanukkah candles in the Sejm with a fire extinguisher, thus protesting against Jewish influence in Polish politics, also pointing out that a display of Christian symbols in the Knesset would be unimaginable. In contrast, Krzysztof Bosak did not refuse to condemn the attack on Israel on 7 September, but said: We should condemn the killings of civilians and not take sides. The fact that, yesterday, the Speaker of the Polish Sejm displayed the flag of Israel in front of the Senate and the fact that, yesterday, President Duda, despite the fact that we have not had an ambassador in Israel for two years and have been insulted by that country, talked about some kind of friendship with Israel, are gestures that go far beyond the pragmatics of diplomatic relations.
Thus, Livne's words were a propaganda lie.
In this statement, he did not refer to the harm caused by the Israeli army against a Polish citizen, but used this tragic situation to portray Poles as anti-Semites. By comparing the killing of the Polish volunteer to the act of extinguishing Hanukkah candles in the Polish parliament, he made clear the system of values he represents. It should also be added here that his government in Israel is the right-wing, nationalist-conservative Likud party. Yakov Livne agreed to be interviewed on Channel Zero, knowing that the host Robert Mazurek (as he describes himself) is a "friend of Israel". However, the ambassador did not show his good side. He did not even apologise in one word for the death of a Pole through the fault of the Israeli army (which is the official narrative), all the time playing the card of anti-Semitism. Krzysztof Stanowski, head of the project, commented on the speech of the Israeli representative in the following way:
A show off of boorishness, arrogance, ordinary goon, something absolutely unbearable and unlikable
.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Defence, Radosław Sikorski, said:
There may have been a willingness to sacrifice noble, innocent civilians just to kill one terrorist, I am not aware of any ethical system in which this is justified.
Helena Krajewska, spokeswoman for Polish Humanitarian Action, commented:
Such trips do not take place in a vacuum, no transport in a foreign country takes place in a vacuum. It must be agreed to by the local authorities or forces controlling the territory. Security guarantees are also given, and these have also been given for this trip.
Behind the scenes, there was talk of deliberately destroying humanitarian convoys to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip and of using artificial intelligence - the Lavender system - to select targets for eradication.
Photographs of the murdered Pole circulated online and the whole incident only fuelled chauvinistic and racist behaviour, resulting in similar postings on the Internet:
Say good morning to the Polish fuckers, who will now be the senior partner of their ancestors - Adolf Hitler's soldiers, deep in crematorium furnace and gassing in hell. Rumour has it that after his death the name of the Polish Nazi was changed to Robert Lewandowski.
Yakov Livne has never apologised for the murder of a Pole in violation of International Humanitarian Law agreements by the Israeli military.
